Lakeside Christian Church began as Chadashchay, Inc., in 1974.  Chadashchay was created as a parachurch ministry, which first held retreats for the purpose of supporting and encouraging the local church.  Its mission quickly expanded to include worship and teaching gatherings, an area youth ministry, Chadashchay Christian School, and the sponsorship of many additional ministries and missionaries.  In 1979, the ministry purchased the Kings Ranch youth camp property east of Cambridge.“The Church at Chadashchay” was formed in 1985, and its name was later changed to “Lakeside Christian Church”.

The Christian School expanded as a multi-church sponsored ministry and moved into its own facility on the south side of Cambridge in 2004.  Lakeside Christian Church continues to occupy offices in the buildings and opened the vacated portions of the facility for use by other ministries as well.  Throughout its occupation of the property on Lake Fannie, Lakeside has invited churches and other groups to utilize the lakefront and buildings.  A prayer chapel and two personal prayer cabins were built in the late 1990’s and early 2000’s.  A staff house was converted to the "Retreat House" in 2018.
